Rocket Fuel Labs has officially left the building, in a good way.
When we started our company, we chose a brand that would be both inspirational and exciting to our team and clients. Although it would seem (in hindsight) that a number of other people had similar ideas.
To avoid confusion and allow us to focus on the opportunities ahead, we have re-branded. We’re growing the team (more news on that shortly), continuing to build great products for fantastic clients, and most importantly we’re still focused on crafting awesome software applications.
Allow us to reintroduce ourselves:
Big Astronaut was founded in early 2013; we started as an outsourced product development team for clients that were looking to create or radically rethink their existing web applications.
Our earliest clients were Chicago-based companies, and we’ve grown our team to include developers in Denver and San Francisco, our engineers are onshore and our intention is to keep it that way. While our client portfolio and services have grown, we are a software engineering organization that is focused on:
- Custom Application Development; we have deep experience in Ruby, Python, Java, and a broad range of mobile technologies. Much of our team comes from Obtiva, which was an industry-leading Ruby on Rails development shop prior to its acquisition by Groupon in 2011.
- Consulting Services; clients have engaged us in a hourly or project-based capacity to provide technical expertise on an as-needed basis to augment, scale up, or replace their current teams. We have an incredibly talented team of developers with a broad range of skill-sets (RoR, TDD/BDD, NoSQL, etc.) at a range of experience levels.
- Technical Trainings; clients have turned to us to help (re-)educate, refine, and work with their development teams to introduce new skills (Angular.js, MongoDB, SOLR, TDD/BDD, etc.) and strengthen existing ones.
